This is such a popular treat at our house. I make it with pears, apples, and cranberries or rhubarb whenever they’re in season. Next I’ll try peaches! Delicious, easy & healthy.

For the filling:

  • 3 cups about 4-5 honeycrisp or gala apples or pears, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp flour or arrowroot or cornstarch for gluten-free

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup

For the topping:

  • 1 cup organic rolled oats

  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar or light brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Combine apples along with the rest of the filling ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Pour into baking dish and even out with a spoon.

  4. In the same bowl, combine the topping ingredients; add and spread over apple mixture.

  5. Bake uncovered, for 55-60 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
